We pride ourselves on doing things a bit differently and getting off the beaten track- consequently, most family trips tend to be tailor-made, giving you more flexibility and choice when finding something that suits the whole gang! Although it was quite some time ago at Pioneer Expeditions that we were teenagers, we now travel with our own teens. Just like adults, all kids are different, so whilst it would be generalising to talk about getting them away from screens, we have found that if the distractions are exciting enough, the I.T. gets forgotten about – for a while!. Whether it's the thrill of white water rafting or ziplining on the Pacuare River in Costa Rica. Searching for huge-eyed nocturnal lemur in Madagascar, or being able to get up close to a Grey Whale in The Sea of Cortez.
This generation of teens is accurately aware of climate change and deforestation's effects on the planet and wildlife. Being able to talk to rescue workers at an Orang-utan sanctuary in Borneo and learn about the rehabilitation of these magnificent creatures will beat most geography field trips hands down.
