by Martin Roberts on Pioneer Expeditions
Central America family trip

Everything about this trip was just perfect, despite lasting 25 days and taking it three countries - Panama, El Salvador and Nicaragua. After discussing with Pioneer what would work for us, they came up with an itinerary that was ideally calibrated for a mixed family group ranging from 7 to 75, with engaging activities that everyone could enjoy, and just the right amount of daily travelling and rest days. It was particularly pleasing to see how much the trip contributed to local communities and we all loved the many activities including making our own ceramics, pupusas (national dish of El Salvador), chocolate and cocoa as well as horse riding and boat trips with local rangers. Having had less involvement than ever before in planning and thinking about a trip, and leaving it more up to the tour company because this was organised at such short notice, it was great to be so pleasantly surprised at so many stages of the trip, from the food to the accommodation to the guides to all the activities. A particular word on the guides who were all brilliant - very knowledgeable, patient, and such good company. And I don't know who else apart from Pioneer offers trips to El Salvador, but it is well worth adding it to any itinerary - such a beautiful country and people, and with so much to do. Such a good experience with Pioneer, from initial planning to all aspects of the trip itself, and in-country communication, that I would have no hesitation taking another big trip with them

Many thanks for your review Martin. We really appreciate it and am so glad you had a great time. We would love to organise another adventure for you in the future.
